Keep the Waters Flowing

Museum volunteers keep the waters flowing at the River of Time.

The River of Time Museum is one of the best places to volunteer in Fountain Hills, especially if you like working with others who enjoy a good time. Opportunities include working behind the scenes and with the visiting public. After becoming members, volunteers commit to a minimum of two shifts per month. The first step is to complete and submit the New Volunteer Information Sheet below.

If you have a special interest or passion, you are encouraged to email volunteers@rotmuseum.org or call 480-837-2612 and ask to talk with the Volunteer Coordinator about potential opportunities.

Events

From big events like the annual Holiday Mart to Family Free Days, The River of Time Museum hosts a wide variety of activities that entertain, educate, and bring in revenue to support ongoing operations. The event support team helps with organization, set up, and clean up. Event planners identify and allocate resources, find speakers or entertainers, plan menus, and coordinate event sales, raffles, and auctions.

Exhibits

This work contains a wide range of tasks, including organizing and identifying items in the museum collections, assisting in the design of new displays, helping with maintenance and repair, and rotating artifacts and activities on the floor.

Education

Docent led tours, school programs, outreach and more are opportunities in our Education area. “Diplomats” staff the reception area and help to facilitate exhibits or educational activities.

Guest Services/Store

The Guest Services volunteer is often the first and last person seen by the visitor. Friendly and engaging they greet visitors, take admissions, sell memberships, register people for events and programs and sell merchandise. All supporting the museum and our mission.

Marketing

Computer savvy volunteers are needed to manage the museum’s social media campaigns, work with our website team to keep calendars up to date, write blogs, create marketing materials and help build content.
